Can a Porch Light Be As Powerful As That Star of Wonder?
It is a silly question to start off writing in 2020 with, I know. Yet , to me it feels meaningful. Oftentimes when I rollerblade in Port Washington as the night gets colder, I sense a bit of sadness I’m not home to Gabriella yet. Why? Because there really are no bright lights to guide the way except for the oncoming cars speeding by.
As I watched the Rockefeller Christmas Tree light up the city for one last weekend , it hit me. This is the year we CANNOT just let the season go. Too many lives are on the line that depend on beautiful lights during the Christmas season. In fact, all of our lives and hearts can utilize that Christmas spirit and quite frankly, God’s light, January-December 2020.
Why? Not only are there concerns of war (which I believe will be prevented by our strong military) but the every day lives’ struggles are documented more and more each day by our media, causing us to feel that stress even if we don’t need to.
So to de-stress ourselves, may we let light in more during this next period of darkness ! And not just physical light , but exuding that emotional light to each other isn’t a bad idea either!
Leaving that porch light on lighting other peoples’ way home, it doesn’t sound like a bad idea after all, does it?
