It’s Not Just ‘Thoughts And Prayers ‘ Needed
Ok, I sound pretty Liberal, but it’s true, thoughts and prayers are not enough. Yet, those who fight against the ‘thoughts and prayers’ moniker are also missing the point. And believe me, by the time this article is published, many will continue to say ‘thoughts and prayers’ are not enough following the deadly and tragic mass shooting at El Paso Mall.
If you don’t want more mass shootings in this country, follow the lead of South Dakota Governor, Gov. Kristi Noem (R). The push to put ‘In God We Trust’ in every SD Public school was signed into law in March and takes effect this month when 2019–2020 school year starts! We need God’s influence on this country, and for those fighting the thoughts and prayers moniker, it’s time to realize that!
Yes, separation of church and state was enacted, but you know what? People are dying at a fast pace and I can’t help but think a person’s heart turns that black to kill when God is eliminated from their life.
And for my friends on the left, you will continue to push for ‘gun control’ which is just acinine and allowing certain Democratic candidates to rise up and say they would JAIL gun owners . Is that we want ? A gun-less society and gun-free zones that are most likely going to be abused by criminals ?
At the same time, there is a valid argument that the GOP ‘s ‘thoughts and prayers’ moniker appears to be just words, and not addressing the crucial issues at hand. I am not for gun-control , however I am for conservatives to come out of their corner and finally enact legislation that has stricter background checks and even putting back in restrictions on gun privileges for the mentally challenged of the country.
It’s really sad that a debate will be raging about a slogan, and an object rather than the human carrying the object. Which is why , after El Paso, I am advocating a change to ‘Thoughts and Prayers’ !
Yes, it should now be ‘Thoughts and Prayers For Change’! Change, That should be the focus, that’s where are our hearts and minds should be. Not debating , not tearing each other apart while trying to find solution. Just find the damn solutions to this problem!
If you want to be part of the solution, firstly take this tweet from El Paso PD and send it to those you know in Texas!
Furthermore, if you want to change the conversation, follow the headlines about homicide rates in our cities, that will put into perspective how cities like Baltimore, LA and NYC need just as much change!!!
God Bless America and May HE inspire us to change !
