Join the Yankees Playoff Run, Mayor Bill!

So , if you are Mayor of New York; If you claim to be a New Yorker and for all New Yorkers; If claim to want what’s best for this great city; then you’d experience the Yankee Stadium atmosphere in October ! Right? Right?

It is why I’m imploring Mayor Bill de Blasio to drop the beef, be a true New Yorker and go to the postseason featuring , you guessed it, the New York Yankees!

Mayor Bill has dropped out of the 2020 Democratic race. By doing so, he’s committing to New Yorkers and our needs. From my vantage point that’s what he should do any way. Part of that commitment should include being there for the sports teams in your city. I don’t need to tell you how steeped in sports this beautiful city. How steeped in the Yankees and the Mets this city is every summer.

So much so, the excitement in October is a beautiful culmination of success for ‘The Boys of Summer.’ I guess I’m writing this to remind Mayor de Blasio that the Yankees are part of the richness that is New York City! It’s very intriguing he tweeted about the Yankees clinching another AL East, first since 2012. So I took liberty of encouraging him to be part of the playoff atmosphere.

There really isn’t anything like watching the Yanks in postseason baseball. The way this city responds is also a thing of beauty. The coolest thing about this 2019 Yankees is how Aaron Boone, who of course made history as a Yankee player in Games 7 of the 2003 ALCS, has become first manager ever in MLB to lead his team to 100 win seasons back-to-back years!

This team, by far more dominant than the 2018 Yankees , could do something we haven’t seen since 2009. That would be bringing the ring back to the Canyon of Heroes. I’d love to see it in a City Hall manned by Mayor Bill. Wouldn’t you?

Even though he is a Red Sox fan, I truly hope he listens to this New Yorker and takes in postseason baseball in the Bronx! I hope he listens to all New Yorkers now that he is back at City Hall!
