Lawrence O’Donnell ‘s Correction Is Huge

In a week that saw Joe Biden’s touching war story fact-checked by the Liberal-leaning Washington Post. A week that saw disgraced former FBI Director James Comey asking people for apologies . A week that saw FEMA dollars be redirected just days before Dorian is to strike our land . There was a bright spot, and amazingly enough, the bright spot comes courtesy of MSNBC. MSNBC! I never thought I’d say MSNBC would provide a bright spot, but it did. More importantly, it was Lawrence O’Donnell , weeknight anchor following Rachel Maddow.

Of course, ANYONE making a correction on a main-stream outlet is a big deal. Yet, it happens so infrequently that when it does, it’s worth discussing. While rushing to air with a single-sourced, unconfirmed report about President Trump ‘s economic dealing with Russian oligarchs is a stupid idea, what Lawrence did the next night is monumental.

By retracting that statement , it proved a sign of integrity that all journalists should deal in moving forward, especially during the Trump Presidency. Secondly, it showed O’Donnell actually listening to the President’s lawyers. You’d probably say, well MSNBC and O’Donnell was told to retract the story. I believe this vicious mainstream media would ignore any request from this POTUS and his lawyers. But it proves that the media needs Trump JUST AS MUCH as Trump needs them.
