Society is Disbanding As Our Military Continues to Band Together to Keep Us Safe

So when did we become the disband of Brothers (and Sisters)? That is the question I pondered as I sat at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument on Riverside Drive and 89th street for a morning Memorial Day service.

A take-away for me this weekend is that while we are honoring the men and women who have lost their lives on the battlefield to keep us safe, this society isn’t striving to be the kind of character that our soldiers in any branch of the military exuded and exude today.

The character trait I’m referring to is the trait that drives you to have everyone’s back . In the military , the mentality is no man or woman gets left behind . If a fellow soldier is injured, you stick with them until he or she get the aid needed. At least that is how it should be.

Talked about this at length on Spreaker , ( ) because while he may have been on the Intrepid today honoring the troops, Mayor Bill de Blasio has not had the city’s back fully 100% and now he is leaving to attempt a run for President !

While Democrats may honor the troops, they don’t appear to have the backs of Americans, who want to see the Mueller Report just GO AWAY and focus on kitchen-table issues. In fact! A Hill poll said 72% of Americans won’t have their mind changed by the Mueller Report! (

Bigger than that, those who have America’s back and want protections that would keep America safe are being shouted down. On immigration, no one wants to know that violent illegals are continually being deported. There are extreme views on gun control being thrown out there and don’t even get me started on the idea that a baby after birth should deserve to be killed anyhow, let alone when he or she feels a heartbeat!

While the troops have died fighting for us, our country is slowly dying as we fight each other on every view possible. That’s not what we should ASPIRE to be, we should have each other’s backs. It’s how the military has kept us safe, because of the Band of Brothers mentality!
