The World Feels Checked Out

I can’t explain it, I really can’t! Yet, there is a massive feeling that the world has adapted to just being checked out right now. On the whole. We have to re-adapt ourselves !

In America, we have got a supply chain crisis. We have trucking issues where there is a shortage of drivers. THERE IS EVEN A SHORTAGE ON SANTA this Christmas season (https://www.businessinsider.com/labor-shortage-santas-short-supply-covid-19-fears-christmas-2021-11?amp). And the general consensus seems to be a big shrug. Email me if I’m wrong at Alex@alexgnyc.com.

I really hope that when 2022 rolls around, mandates are lifted and society can check back in once again. For society’s sake we can no longer be checked out. The continuous grind of a news cycle that offers no hope, fears that if you don’t get vaccinated you will be excommunicated from the world and the unwillingness to work are ultimately destroying us.

It’s the unwillingness to work that is bothering me. Why do we have these shortages? No one wants to do the job any more. Is that truly possible? Isn’t America the roll up your sleeves and just do it country? Well a pandemic and being used to stimulus checks a year later, and even unemployment, there is no encouragement to get back to work. In September alone, ‘a record 4.4 million people’ QUIT their job , QUIT! (https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2021/11/12/economy/job-openings-quits-september/index.html)

In New York City, it’s continued to be discussed that work spaces should be turned into affordable housing. THESE GIANT OFFICE SPACES to be turned into a home? (https://www.politico.com/news/2021/11/11/new-york-shrinking-offices-housing-520318) The way to keep work going is if we encourage people to get BACK to the office! The more people work from home the more checked out we become. Also, as busy as it is starting to be, this lifelong New Yorker still doesn’t feel that is back 100%, that’s what I pray for in 2022.

Here’s the biggest gripe I have. The more people are encouraged to work from home. The more people are becoming OK with unemployment, the more lulled to sleep this society becomes . Allowing, Big Brother to step in and tell us what to do. Thank God Virginia was awake on Election Night and went Red. It was a refreshing feeling that we could be just an election away from getting out of this slog created by prolonged lockdowns and mandates and even job threats if an agenda of vaccination was not met. I’d add the hypocrisy these Democratic leaders like former Gov. Cuomo and California Gov. Gavin Newsom has tired us all out!

Holding life over our heads if we don’t comply is not what America is. America and its leadership should let us LIVE LIFE once again 2022, and we should all check back in to society before the fabric is pulled out from under us! God is also guiding us through this, I remind myself daily!
